The volume of goods transported through the Azerbaijani section of the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) amounted to 35.5 million tons in 2020, Trend reports referring to the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
According to the committee, in the reporting year, the cargo turnover in the country made up over 8.4 billion ton-kilometers, which is 16.9 percent less compared to 2019.
At the same time, 19.3 million tons or 54.3 percent of all cargo was transported by road. About 11.6 million tons or 32.8 percent of all cargo was transported by rail, and 4.56 million tons or 12.9 percent - by sea, the report said.
Nearly 7.5 million tons or 21.2 percent of all cargo were transit cargo, added the committee.
