Uzbekistan Airways has announced the opening of regular flights between Urgench and Fergana regions, Trend reports referring to the press service of Uzbekistan Airways.

According to the information, this is the first flight between small cities of Uzbekistan in many years. “Currently, all domestic flights are operated from Tashkent,” the company noted.

It is reported that the first flights will be operated on February 3 and 6. In addition, starting from February 11, flights will be operated regularly on Thursdays and Saturdays.

It was also noted that the flights will be carried out on A320 aircraft.

The plans to open flights between the cities of the Fergana Valley and the historical cities of Uzbekistan with the aim of developing tourism were announced in the spring of 2020, before the introduction of large-scale restrictions in the country due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Currently, all domestic flights are operated only from Tashkent. Previously, many cities in Uzbekistan were connected by regular air routes.

At the beginning of last year, the state-owned airline Humo Air was created, which was supposed to establish regular flights within the country at low rates. It was noted that the airline received 43 AN-2 air-crafts.
