TRACECA and ADB to create project for full transition of documentation to electronic form

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 12

By Sadraddin Aghjayev - Trend:

One of the directions of our activity under a single transit agreement is the introduction of digital technologies, Rufat Bayramov, Permanent Representative of the PS IGC TRACECA, told Trend.

According to Bayramov, at the moment, the participating countries are considering the possibility of using certain technologies, on the basis of which the product will be developed.

The TRACECA representative added that the possibilities of introducing additional devices are being considered due to the infrastructure that exists on trucks.

Speaking about multimodal transportation, Bayramov noted that a rather complex set of tasks would be involved.

"If we are talking about the transportation of containerized cargo by transport, then it is necessary to control each stage of transportation, starting from a truck or a railway operator, then transshipment of this cargo in the port and its further movement," he added.

The permanent representative noted that joint work is underway with international financial institutions, including consultants from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

"Within the framework of this cooperation, a project is being worked out on the complete transition of TRACECA documentation to an electronic format and the creation of a single multimodal document," Bayramov said.

According to the TRACECA representative, the broad geography and organization of the working process of the participating countries in different systems, including railway consignment notes, are taken into account.

"In this issue, the main task is to achieve a common document that will provide for those parameters that are provided for in the application of different systems," he added.
