New plant for minibusses production to be launched in Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh region

An automobile plant for the production of minibusses, commercial vehicles, and trucks in the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan will be commissioned by the end of this year, Trend reports referring to the press service of the president of Uzbekistan.

According to the presentation of investment projects formed for the Jizzakh region, the capacity of the new plant will amount to 27,000 vehicles per year, while the volume of investments will exceed $16.5 million.

It was noted that the production of Chinese cars from China Dong Feng Motor Industry and Hebei Changan Automile will be established at this plant.

Two other automotive projects presented to the president are ADM-Jizzakh and the Jizzakh Automobile Plant, where the implementation of the second stage has started.

It is reported that the production capacity at ADM-Jizzakh by the end of 2022 should reach 100,000 cars. Investments here will exceed 770 trillion soums ($73 billion). Earlier it was reported that it is planned to organize the assembly of LADA and Renault cars, as well as Kia here.

In addition, the second stage of the project to master the assembly of Volkswagen cars will be completed at the Jizzakh Automobile Plant by the end of this year. As a result, the total capacity of the plant will reach 20,000 cars per year. The volume of investments will exceed 1.4 trillion soums ($133 million).
