Iran unveils cargo movements in ports of Bushehr Province

A total of 45 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the ports of Bushehr Province (southern Iran) in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), the Director General of Ports and Maritime Department of Bushehr Province, Siyavash Arjmandzadeh said, Trend reports citing the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization’s website.

According to him, 10.3 million tons of the cargo are non-oil products and about 34.2 million tons are oil products.

Arjmandzadeh added that 209,000 TEU containers were loaded and unloaded in the ports of the province in the last Iranian year.

The director general stressed that 6,500 ships docked at the ports of Bushehr Province in the last Iranian year. About 1,850 of them carried more than 1,000 tons, and 4,700 - less than 1,000 tons of cargo.

Furthermore, 6,540 ships left the ports of the province during the reporting period. Of these, 1,840 ships carried more than 1,000 tons and 4,700 ships - less than 1,000 tons of cargo.

“In general, 237,000 passengers were transported through the ports of Bushehr Province last year. About 118,000 of them entered to Iran and the rest left to Iran,” he said.
