Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan implementing road and railroad construction projects

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are implementing priority investment and infrastructure projects, including the construction of the Uchkuduk (Uzbekistan)-Kyzylorda (Kazakhstan) road and railroad, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

On May 7, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the First President of Kazakhstan, Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev.

During the conversation, the parties discussed topical issues of Uzbek-Kazakh multifaceted cooperation and exchanged views on the situation in Central Asia.

Also, the positive dynamics of interaction, which is ensured thanks to active and fruitful bilateral contacts at different levels, was noted with satisfaction.

It was noted that since the beginning of this year, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan has grown by 28 percent. In addition, the construction of the International Center for Trade and Economic Cooperation in the border region was launched last month.

Furthermore, according to the information, joint preparation and implementation of priority investment and infrastructure projects are underway, including the construction of the Uchkuduk-Kyzylorda road and railroad and the Turkestan-Tashkent high-speed rail link.

“The regions of the two countries are working closely, important programs in the field of cultural and humanitarian exchange are continuing,” the ministry added.

Also, the ministry reports that the president of Uzbekistan and the first president of Kazakhstan emphasized the importance of further building up full-scale and mutually beneficial cooperation in order to strengthen the bonds of centuries-old friendship, good-neighborliness, trust, and partnership between fraternal peoples and countries.
