Uzbekistan Airways in 2020 increased the monthly income of from cargo transportation from $1.3 million to $5.7 million as a result of the increase in the volume of cargo flights last year, Trend reports referring to the press service of Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament in Uzbekistan).
In particular, Uzbekistan Airways JSC in 2020 transported 41,700 tons of cargo, which is 1.45 times more than in 2019.
According to the information, additional charter agreements were signed last year in order to increase the volume of cargo flights in the directions of Istanbul (Turkey), Urumqi (China), Ostrava (Czech), Shanghai (China), Seoul (South Korea), Delhi (India), Shijiazhuang (China), Liege (Belgium).
It is reported that in 2021 it is planned to carry 1,933 passengers and 42,500 tons of cargo (including paid baggage and mail), having completed 12,268 flights.
Also, in order to increase the volume of cargo transportation this year, it is planned to implement new flights Tashkent - Hong Kong - Tashkent - Tel Aviv - Tashkent and Tashkent - Hong Kong - Tashkent - Kiev - Tashkent.
It is also envisaged to transport cargo for 2,000 tons along these routes and receive additional income in the amount of $5.8 million.
