Cargo movements in Iran’s Chabahar port increase

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran) increased by 78 percent in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2021), compared to the 1st month (March 21 through April 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, a total of 255,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the second month. Of this, 1,820 tons were loaded and about 253,000 tons were unloaded.

"About 103,000 tons of cargo were imported through the Chabahar port during the reporting month," the statistics said.

Also, 171 tons of cargo were loaded, and 3,280 tons were unloaded in the port for transit over the 2nd month, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 147,000 tons of cargo were unloaded in the Chabahar port for cabotage in the second month.

"Furthermore, 1,650 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for other purposes in the same month," the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 92,100 tons of essential products, 2,400 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 624 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 12,700 tons of container products, 147,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month, the statistics said.

As reported, about 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the second month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 7.12 million tons were loaded and 5.47 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
