The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Bushehr port of the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) decreased by 14 percent in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2021), compared to the 1st month (March 21 through April 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Port and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, a total of 341,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port over the second month. Of this, 298,000 tons were loaded and 42,400 tons were unloaded.

In addition, 234,000 tons of cargo were exported and 37,700 tons were imported through the Bushehr port during the reporting month, the statistics said.

“In the 2nd month, 63,900 tons of cargo were loaded and 4,550 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage,” the statistics said.

While for other purposes, 1,060 tons of cargo were loaded and 132 tons were unloaded in the port in the second month, according to the statistics.

“So, 15,800 tons of essential products, 2,830 tons of metal products, 209,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 2,970 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Bushehr port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Moreover, 1,530 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 21,200 tons of container products, 87,200 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the second month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 7.12 million tons were loaded and 5.47 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
