First freight train departs from China’s Wuhan to Uzbekistan’s Tashkent

First ever freight train departed from Wuhan (China) on July 28, to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to Uzbek media.

According to the information, the train will pass through the Khorgos railway checkpoint in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) and arrive at its destination in 12 days.

The train carries strollers, cotton yarn, shoe polish, household appliances, components for air conditioners, fabric and other consumer goods with a total weight of over 600 tons.

According to an employee of China Railway Modern Logistics Technology Co., Ltd, in Uzbekistan, where the production of crops and mining is developed, there is a high demand for consumer goods.

“The launch of this direct link is driven by the strong industrial complementarity between China and Uzbekistan, and it will undoubtedly help businesses reduce transport costs and delivery times,” the message said.
