Iran unveils volume of essential products transported from its ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 11

A total of 8.88 million tons of essential products were transported from 8 ports of Iran to various Iranian provinces from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021) to August 10, an official of Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran Gholamhossein Daghaghaleh said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

So, 5.5 million tons of essential products were transported from the Imam Khomeini port, 1.18 million tons from the Shahid Rajaee port, 791,000 tons from the Amirabad port and 502,000 tons from the Chabahar port to Iranian provinces within the mentioned period, the official noted.

Daghaghaleh added that also, 469,000 tons of essential products were transported from Anzali port, 324,000 tons from Noshahr port, 86,000 tons from Fereidoonkenar port and 18,000 tons from Bushehr port to Iran’s various provinces.

He noted that on average, 50,000 tons of essential products were transported daily from the Imam Khomeini port by 2,000 trucks. While on August 9, 2021, about 61,000 tons of essential products were transported from the port by 2,600 trucks.
