About 30,000 TEU-containers (TEU - one twenty-foot sea container) have been transported along the Aktau-Baku-Aktau feeder line since its launching, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Kazmortransflot NMSC.

The feeder line is a section of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

In the first half of 2021, 8,017 containers were transported along the feeder line: in the Aktau-Baku route - 6,168, in Baku-Aktau - 1,849, said Kazmortransflot.

"Mainly, grain crops, fruits and vegetables, consumer goods, machinery and spare parts, frozen foods, chemical and mineral fertilizers are transported along the feeder line," the NMSC stated.

"Since March 8 of this year, the main feeder ship on the Aktau-Baku-Aktau line is the Barys container ship, and a total of nearly 280 voyages have been made along this route by all types of ships," the company noted.

After the launch of the feeder line, freight traffic along with it in both directions began to gradually increase.
