The value of road cargo transportation carried out by Azerbaijan from January through July 2021 rose, Trend reports on Aug.23 citing a report from the State Customs Committee (SCC).
According to the committee, this showing exceeded $5.1 billion, up 21.2 percent on annual basis.
In the first seven months of this year, over 2.5 million tons of cargo have been transported by road, which is 22.6 percent more compared to the same period of 2020, the committee said.
The volume of export cargo transportation by road exceeded 1 million tons (rise of 30.8 percent), and the value stood at $931 million (a growth of 29.5 percent), the SCC report said.
At the same time, the volume of imports by road amounted to over 1.5 million tons (up 17.8 percent), and the value - over $4.2 billion (a rise of 19.6 percent), added the committee.
As earlier reported, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover from January to July 2021 made up nearly $17.7 billion. Of these, exports accounted for $11.39 billion, and imports – nearly $6.3 billion.
