Qanot Sharq, the first private passenger airline in Uzbekistan, will launch charter flights on the Tashkent-Moscow-Tashkent route, Trend reports with reference to Uzbek media.
According to the information, the airline will operate its first flight on the Tashkent-Moscow-Tashkent route on August 27.
Earlier it was reported that the Qanot Sharq airline has leased two used Airbus A320-200 aircraft from the American company Air Lease Corporation.
Qanot Sharq was incorporated in 1998 and specializes in air cargo and passenger transportation. From 2003 to 2012, it rented Il-76 aircraft from the Uzbekiston Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) and operated its own charter flights, being the first private airline in Uzbekistan.
The company transported more than 150,000 passengers. After the transfer of all Il-76s to the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan, the Qanot Sharq operator certificate was suspended.
Earlier it was reported that starting from August 17, Uzbekistan Airways will resume regular flights on the Tashkent-London-Tashkent route. According to the airline, regular flights will be performed twice a week - on Tuesdays and Fridays.
