Volume of loaded/unloaded cargo in Iran’s Shahid Bahonar port falling

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) decreased by 1 percent in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (June 23 through August 22, 2021), compared to the 4th month (June 22 through July 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 182,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the fifth month. Of this, about 164,000 tons were loaded and 18,300 tons were unloaded.

Furthermore, 117,000 tons of cargo were exported and 2,200 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port over the reporting month.

Within the 5th month, 231 tons of cargo were loaded and 2,430 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.

According to the statistics, 46,900 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for cabotage, as well as 13,700 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the fifth month.

“So, 64,500 tons of essential products, 150 tons of metal products, 45,500 tons of construction and mining materials, 1,030 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port in the 5th month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Moreover, 35 tons of chemicals, 15 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials 13,700 tons of container products, 57,300 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.

As reported, about 11.3 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the fifth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.98 million tons were loaded and 5.29 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 9.8 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
