More than 847,000 tons of cargo were transported from the Ilam Province (western Iran) during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2021), Director General for the Ilam Province Roads and Transportation Department Nourollah Delkhah said, Trend citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.
According to the director general, the cargo was transported by 53,200 trucks. The transported goods were mainly cement, wheat and construction materials.
“There are currently 53 cargo companies operating in Iran’s Ilam Province,” Delkhah added.
Reportedly, there are 3,500 km of various roads in Iran's Ilam Province.
