Three SCANTER naval radar systems of Terma company in the Shahid Rajaee port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) have been repaired domestically, Deputy Director of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Mohammad Reza Pour Rajabi said, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
SCANTER naval radar systems are used for tracking the movement of ships, along with sending their coordinates to the nearby control center.
The deputy director noted that the domestic repair of the motherboards of the mentioned radar systems cost a total of 2.25 billion rials (about $53,500).
Pour Rajabi added that the motherboards were to be repaired abroad, however Iran managed to save some $111,000 through domestic repairs.
The Shahid Rajaee port of Iran is located on an area of 2,400 hectares. The port can receive 100 million tons of cargo per year.
