The Director-General of Roads and Urban Development Organization of Ilam Province announced the operation of the province's connection to the railway network, Trend reports citing IRNA.
The project of connecting the Ilam province railway to the national railway network has been stopped until the beginning of the current Iranian year (started on March 21), due to lack of funds, Abdollah Bahadori said.
He added the total sum of money allocated for the project of connecting the Ilam province railway to the national railway network was $45 million including over $16 million of credit through current Budget law, over $23 million from the source of a balanced budget, and about $4.5 million from the source of credits for less developed areas.
He went on to announce that the contractor of the project has been selected.
"The length of the route that will be implemented in the first phase is 80 km (from Islamabad Gharb city of Kermanshah province to Chavar city of Ilam province)."
