Iran shipping operations had 43 percent growth during the first five months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2021), said the Managing Director of Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL), Trend reports citing IRNA.
The country's shipment revenue during this period was $431 million indicating 100 percent growth compared to the same period in the last Iranian year (started March 20, 2020), Mohammad Modares Khiabani noted.
Iran currently has 150 active maritime fleets, shipping bulk, and container cargo and transporting passengers. The country's maritime transportation has declined to 14 million tons of goods in 2020 following the coronavirus outbreak.
