TEHRAN, Iran, Oct.26
Trend:
Iran is starting cargo shipment from its northern ports, Managing Director of Khazar Sea Shipping Lines Company told Trend in an interview.
Iran Trade Promotion Organization has secured the regular cargo transportation from six routes in Amirabad, Anzali, and Nowshahr ports to Russia's Astrakhan and Makhachkala ports alongside Aktau port in Kazakhstan, Davood Tafti noted.
Two optional routes from Astara and Fereydunkenar ports will also be used for transportation with less cargo to Russian and Kazakhstan ports.
Khazar Sea Shipping Lines Company is to provide services at the following ports while the Trade Promotion Organization has agreed to compensate for any possible damage in trade.
It is expected that Iran's northern ports will upgrade in logistic, loading, and unloading while Anzali and Astara ports need dredging, and the hinterland of northern ports needs to be strengthened to reduce the traffic of trucks carrying cargo.
