Iran’s transit costs to be reduced with implementation of plans on North-South Corridor

The costs of cargo transportation and transit will be reduced with the implementation of plans on the North-South Corridor between Azerbaijan and Iran, Director General of the Transit and International Affairs Department of Iran Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization (RMTO) Javad Hedayati told Tasnim News Agency, Trend reports.

He made the remark after a meeting with a delegation led by Deputy Chief of the Azerbaijan State Road Transport Service Anar Rzayev on Nov. 15.

According to Hedayati, the meeting focused on removing barriers to cargo transportation and trade, as well as developing relations on cargo transportation.

The director general also added that with the regulation of new mechanisms on cargo transportation and the development of necessary plans, cargo transportation and transport between the two countries will be simplified and costs in this area will be reduced.

The Iranian official stressed the importance of increasing cargo transportation between the two countries.
