Iran sees increase in volume of cargo loaded/unloaded in Genaveh port

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Genaveh port of the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) increased by 12.9 percent in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2021), compared to the 7th month (September 23 through October 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 9,140 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port in the eighth month. About 4,040 tons of cargo were loaded and 5,100 tons were unloaded.

Also, 1,300 tons of cargo were exported and 115 tons were imported through the Genaveh port during the reporting month, the statistics said.

Within the 8th month, 2,650 tons of cargo were loaded and 1,550 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage.

In addition, 1,450 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for transshipment, as well as, 86 tons of cargo were loaded and 1,970 tons were unloaded for other purposes in the 8th month.

In total, 1,300 tons of construction and mining materials, 6,300 tons of small and assorted products and 1,540 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in the Genaveh port within the 8th month of the current Iranian year.

About 11.1 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the eighth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.7 million tons were loaded and 5.4 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 13.4 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
