Azerbaijan's cost of cargo shipments by sea grows in 11M2021

The cost of goods transported via sea in Azerbaijan from January through November 2021 grew, the State Customs Committee told Trend.

According to the committee, this figure amounted to $657.4 million, up by over $112.1 million (20.56 percent) on annual basis.

Over 740.7 million tons of cargo were transported via sea in the first 11 months of 2021, which is 83.8 million tons (10.15 percent) less than in the same period of 2020, the committee said.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo export by sea increased by 38.9 million tons (15.9 percent) and exceeded 283.5 million tons. The export value exceeded $138.5 million (a growth of $59.1 million or 42.67 percent).

More than 457.1 million tons accounted for import, amounting to more than $518.8 million (up by almost $53 million or 11.37 percent year on year).

In 11M2021, the cost of cargo shipments by all means of transport in Azerbaijan equaled $30.21 billion, including export worth nearly $19.8 billion, and imports - over $10.4 billion, added the committee.
