The number of flights from Tabriz International Airport in the East Azerbaijan Province (north-western Iran) increased by 30 percent, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.
According to the statistics, a total of 8,120 passenger planes took off and landed at the airport in 8 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 6,237.
Over 8 months, 791,544 passengers were transported through the Tabriz International Airport. Passenger transportation increased by 18 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 671,645 passengers had been transported via the airport in the same period last Iranian year.
In addition, 7,625 tons of cargo were transported through the airport within the mentioned period. Cargo transportation increased by 74 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. The figure amounted to 4,382 tons of cargo in the same period last Iranian year.
