Cargo transportation through Iran's Shiraz International Airport up

The volume of cargo transported via the Shiraz Shahid Dastghaib International Airport in the Fars Province (southern Iran) increased by 50 percent, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.

According to the statistics, 17,192 tons of cargo were transported through Shiraz International Airport in 9 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 11,497 tons.

At the same time, 1,573,202 passengers were transported through the airport for nine months, which is an increase of 33 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Passenger transportation via the airport for the same period last Iranian year amounted to 1,182,878.

Over 9 months, 20,517 flights (passenger planes only) were carried out from the Shiraz International Airport, which is an increase of 39 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 14,755 flights had been carried out from the airport in the same period last Iranian year.

Iran’s Shiraz Shahid Dastghaib International Airport is located on 500 hectares of land and can receive 10 million passengers a year.
