French Alstom considering to create service centers in Azerbaijan (Exclusive)

French Alstom company is considering the issue of creating service centers in Azerbaijan, Alstom’s Managing Director in Western and Central Asia Kanat Alpysbayev told Trend.

According to Alpysbayev, Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) CJSC built new and modern depots, where all types of maintenance for Alstom locomotives can be carried out.

"Azerbaijan Railways CJSC and French Alstom are not negotiating the purchase of an additional batch of locomotives. This recently delivered 40 freight locomotives for the CJSC cover its demand today,” added the managing director.

In 2014, ADY signed a contract with Alstom for delivery of 50 electric locomotives worth 288 million euro, including 40 Prima T8 AZ8A heavy freight locomotives produced in Kazakhstan’s Nur-Sultan by EKZ, Alstom’s joint venture, and 10 Prima M4 AZ4A passenger locomotives which are produced in French Belfort city and have already been delivered to Azerbaijan.
