BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 6. More than 50 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in the ports of Bushehr Province (southern Iran), over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), the head of the Ports and Maritime Department of Bushehr Province, Mohammad Shakibinasab said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to Shakibinasab, about 11 million tons of non-oil products, as well as, 39.7 million tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded at the ports of the province last year.
“Moreover, 212,690 TEU containers were loaded and unloaded in the ports of the Bushehr Province during the reporting period, of which 137,240 units were full, while 75,450 units – empty,” he added.
The official also pointed out that a total of 7,825 ships docked at the ports of Bushehr Province within the last Iranian year. The capacity of 2,119 ships was more than 1,000 tons, while the capacity of 5,706 ships was less than 1,000 tons.
Shakibinasab also noted that 7,696 ships departed from the province's ports last Iranian year. Of the ships, 2,059 had a capacity to carry more than 1,000 tons of cargo, while 5,637 – had less than 1,000 tons of cargo.
“In addition, a total of 238,931 passengers were transported from the ports of the Bushehr Port over last Iranian tear. Of them, 119,884 people entered the province through ports, while 119,047 people left the province," he said.
