BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 7. Singaporean company PSA International Pte Ltd will take part in the creation of a container hub in the port of Kazakhstan’s Aktau, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development.

The corresponding agreement was reached during a meeting between the Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan Berik Kamaliev and the Vice President of PSA International Pte Ltd Lee Peng Gee.

PSA representatives expressed their interest in the further development of transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). The parties agreed to approve the relevant roadmap following the meeting.

The Transport Committee of the Ministry is working on the creation of a container hub in the port of Aktau. The implementation of the project will increase the flow of containers through this port up to 100,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU).

According to the results of the first quarter of 2022, the volume of container traffic through the seaports of Aktau and Kuryk increased by four percent compared to the same period last year.
