BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. Azerbaijan increased the volume of imported vehicles from January through March 2022, Trend reports via the State Customs Committee (SCC).
According to the committee, this figure amounted to 17,102, up by 1,563 vehicles (10.05 percent) on annual basis.
The majority of imports fell on cars – 15,934, which is 1,715 vehicles (12.06 percent) more than in the first quarter of 2021. Of them, 90 microbuses, 70 electric and 3,140 hybrid vehicles were imported.
Imports of hybrid vehicles from January through March this year increased by 1,309 (71.5 percent) compared to 1Q2021 (1,831).
Meanwhile, the number of imported trucks increased by 18.9 percent over the year and reached 1,012 (compared to 1,249 trucks in 1Q2021).
From January through March 2022, Azerbaijan imported road vehicles worth $189.3 million, up by over $31.3 million (19.85 percent) on annual basis.
