BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 23. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Astara port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) decreased by 33.6 percent in the 12th month of the last Iranian year (February 20 through March 20, 2022), compared to the 11th month (January 21 through February 19, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, over 11,300 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 12th month. Of this, 8,960 tons were loaded and 2,350 tons were unloaded.
About 8,830 tons of cargo were exported and 2,350 tons were imported through the Astara port over the reporting month.
Also, 125 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for transit during the 12th month.
According to the statistics, 59 tons of essential products, 431 tons of metal products, and 5,880 tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 12th month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 3 tons of equipment, vehicles, spare parts, 1,480 tons of chemicals, 1,700 tons of leather goods, clothing, wood materials, paper, and so on, 468 tons of small and assorted goods, 1,280 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
About 12.2 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 12th month of the last Iranian year. Of this, 6.2 million tons were loaded and 5.98 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 5.3 percent, compared to the same month of the preceding Iranian year.
