BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 2. The construction of the fourth tanker for Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping CJSC is planned to be completed by the end of the 3Q2023, Project Engineer of Baku Shipyard Elmir Shamkhalli told Trend.

According to him, the tanker is being built on land at this stage.

"It is planned to launch it to prepare for operation at the next stage. This tanker, like the 'Khoshbakht Yusifzade' tanker, will be aimed to transport oil and oil products, including lubricants," he said.

Shamkhalli also said that the design of the tanker was prepared jointly with the Odessa Maritime Bureau, and all construction work is being carried out by Azerbaijani specialists.

Construction of this tanker was started in 2020. It is planned to name it "Fuzuli" or "Zangilan", he noted.

Today the construction of two tankers for the transportation of oil and oil products continues at the Baku Shipyard for the Azerbaijan Shipping Company CJSC. In addition, one transport vessel (SOCAR-1), three passenger vessels (Ufug, Zafar and Turan), two tankers (Lachin and Kalbajar) and two ferry vessels have already been built and put into operation. ("Azerbaijan" and "Zarifa Aliyeva").
