BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10. The Finnish company Nurminen Logistics Oyj plans to start weekly shipping of container cargo from China to Europe in June 2022, Trend reports citing the company.
The company's first freight train from China to Europe was sent from Chinese Chongqing on May 10, 2022.
"Route starts in China and passes through Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Romania to Central Europe. The new route is in great demand, and the first train is already loaded," the company said.
The next train will depart on May 25, and the weekly dispatch of container cargo is scheduled to begin in June, the company noted.
"This route combines rail and sea transport and is ideally suited to the needs of modern transport chains, where time and sustainability play a major role. Transportation from China to Central Europe is about three times faster than shipping," Nurminen Logistics added.
