BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by about 75 percent, in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 165,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 1st month. So, 124,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 41,000 tons were unloaded.

About 120,000 tons of cargo were exported and 2,460 tons were imported through the Bandar Lengeh port over the 1st month.

"Furthermore, 344 tons of cargo were loaded and 18,800 tons were unloaded in this port for transit. Also, 3,230 tons of cargo were loaded and 206 tons were unloaded for cabotage during the reporting month," the statistics said.

As well, 42 tons of cargo were loaded and 19,600 tons were unloaded in this port for other purposes.

In general, 85,600 tons of essential products, 25 tons of metal products, 38,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 19,800 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts and 378 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port in the 1st month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 1,130 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 11 tons of small and assorted products and 19,600 tons of container products, 49 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month.

In general, more than 12.8 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 1st month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.49 million tons were loaded and 6.26 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 10.9 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
