BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. Kazakhstan is interested in increasing the transportation of goods through the territory of Iran in the North-South direction, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov said during the meeting with the First Vice President of Iran Mohammad Mokhber, Trend reports with reference to the press service of Kazakh Prime Minister.

Kazakh side confirmed its interest in increasing the transportation of goods through the territory of Iran in the North-South direction with subsequent access to the countries of the Persian Gulf, Africa, South Asia and other regions, including using multimodal cargo transportation.

The Iranian side noted the productive nature of negotiations held on the development of transport and logistics cooperation, speaking about the importance of expanding Kazakh-Iranian transport cooperation.

Mokhber noted that the achievement of these goals could make Iran and Kazakhstan important regional hubs.
