BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by about 37.6 percent, in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 162,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 2nd month. So, 115,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 46,800 tons were unloaded.

About 105,000 tons of cargo were exported and 6,360 tons were imported through the Bandar Lengeh port over the 2nd month.

"Furthermore, 1,210 tons of cargo were loaded and 18,400 tons were unloaded in this port for transit. Also, 8,780 tons of cargo were loaded and 56 tons were unloaded for cabotage during the reporting month," the statistics said.

Also, 22,000 tons of cargo were unloaded in this port for other purposes.

In general, 85,300 tons of essential products, 130 tons of metal products, 33,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 19,900 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts and 386 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 999 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 26 tons of small and assorted products and 22,000 tons of container products, 174 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month.

In general, more than 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.47 million tons were loaded and 7.12 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
