BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 9. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by about 102 percent, in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 202,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 3rd month. So, 143,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 58,400 tons were unloaded.

About 133,000 tons of cargo were exported and 5,230 tons were imported through the Bandar Lengeh port over the 3rd month.

"Furthermore, 657 tons of cargo were loaded and 27,300 tons were unloaded in this port for transit. Also, 9,330 tons of cargo were loaded and 72 tons were unloaded for cabotage during the reporting month," the statistics said.

Also, 47 tons of cargo were loaded and 25,700 tons were unloaded in this port for other purposes.

In general, 108,000 tons of essential products, 113 tons of metal products, 37,200 tons of construction and mining materials, 28,600 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts and 1,370 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 136 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 56 tons of small and assorted products and 25,700 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month.

In general, about 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.8 million tons were loaded and 6.8 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6.4 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
