BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. A total of 23,739 people crossed Iran’s Bilasuvar border checkpoint in Ardabil Province (north-western Iran), during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2022), Director General of the Road and Transport Department of Iran’s Ardabil Province, Kalimollah Vosughi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

According to Vosughi, 2,286 of the people who crossed the Bilasuvar border for the reporting period were Iranian citizens, while 21,453 people were foreign citizens.

“Within 4 months, 2,261 Iranian citizens entered the country through the Bilasuvar border checkpoint, while 251 citizens left Iran,” he added.

The director general also said that 10,184 foreign citizens entered Iran through the Bilasuvar border checkpoint, while 11,269 citizens left through it within four months.

In addition, 46,000 trucks crossed the Bilasuvar border terminal in 4 months, which is an increase of 51 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year, Vosughi said.
