Iran records increase in cargo operations at Bushehr Province’s ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at the ports of Bushehr Province (southern Iran), increased by 20 percent, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of Bushehr Province’s Ports and Maritime Department Mohammad Shakibi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

Shakibi said that more than 19 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the ports of the Bushehr Province in 4 months.

“Of the mentioned volume, 16 million tons were crude oil and related products, while the rest - non-oil products,” he added.

The official also noted that a total of 88,000 TEU containers were loaded and unloaded at the province’s ports over 4 months.

There are several ports, including Bushehr, Kharg, Genaveh, Dayyer, Asaluyeh and others operating in Iran’s Bushehr Province.
