BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17. Azerbaijan imported 28,681 cars from January through July 2022, which is 8.1 percent or 2,539 units less than in the same period last year, Trend reports via State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.
According to the committee, bulk of imports fell on cars and other motor vehicles for the transport of passengers - 38,140, which is 13.41 percent, or 5,909 units less than in the same period the previous year.
Therefore, 329 minibusses, 186 electric vehicles and 7,078 hybrid vehicles were imported. The import of hybrid cars increased by 20.26 percent or 1,191 units compared to January through July 2021. Azerbaijan imported 3,719 hybrid cars from January through July 2021.
Azerbaijan imported 5,879 hybrid vehicles in the reporting period of 2022.
The number of trucks imported by Azerbaijan in the reporting period of 2022 decreased by 15.04 percent over the year to 2,717. The number of imported trucks amounted to 3,190 from January through July 2022.
Azerbaijan imported cars worth more than $541.6 million from January through July 2022, which is 14.12 percent or $67 million more than in the same period in 2021.
