BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 19. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) decreased by 23 percent in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 117,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port in the 5th month. Of this figure, about 39,000 tons were loaded and 78,000 tons were unloaded.

In addition, 30,400 tons of cargo were exported and 75,000 tons were imported through the Anzali port over the reporting month.

Also, 8,500 tons of cargo were loaded and 2,950 tons were unloaded in the port for transit, as well as 4 tons of cargo were loaded and 22 tons were unloaded for other purposes in the 5th month.

According to the statistics, 47,500 tons of essential products, 6,140 tons of metal products, 10,000 tons of construction and mining materials, and 1,540 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port in the 5th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 11,500 tons of chemicals, 27,500 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 1 ton of small and assorted goods, 11,600 tons of container products, and 943 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In general, about 12.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 5th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, about 6.4 million tons were loaded and about 6.1 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
