BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 8. Azerbaijani Railways CJSC transported about 13.6 million tons of cargo from January through September 2022 (which is 23.85 percent or 2,616 tons more than in the same period of the previous year), Trend reports citing the Azerbaijani Railways.
The volume of transit cargo totaled 5.7 million tons.
"The number of TEU containers amounted to 53,884 which is 34.8 percent or 13,919 TEU more than in the same period of the previous year," said the company.
It was noted that the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway route transported 345,946 tons of cargo, which is 7.7 percent or 28,839 tons less than in the same period last year.
The revenues of the company from the transportation of cargo and passengers from January through October 2022 amounted to 286.366 million manat or $168.4 million (an increase of 37.4 percent).
