Iran unveils volume of oil, non-oil products loaded/unloaded at Imam Khomeini Port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 21. Overall, 40 million tons of oil and non-oil products were loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Imam Khomeini port in Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran), during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023), Deputy Director of Ports and Maritime Department in Khuzestan Province Davoud Chegeni said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

Chegeni noted that 1.7 million tons of crude oil and related products, and 15.7 million tons of petrochemical products were loaded and unloaded at the mentioned port for the reporting period.

“Furthermore, 14 million tons of essential products, 5 million tons of construction and mining materials, 2 million tons of small and assorted goods and 112,000 TEU containers were loaded and unloaded at Imam Khomeini port in 11 months,” he said.

According to the deputy director, a number of steps are being taken to increase loading and unloading activity at Imam Khomeini port.

Iran's Imam Khomeini port is located northwest of the Persian Gulf. The port has the capacity to receive 60 million tons of cargo per year.
