BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 13.The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 20.9 percent in the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2023), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
About 202,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 11th month. So, about 153,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 49,000 tons were unloaded.
In addition, approximately 152,000 tons of cargo were exported and 3,660 tons were imported through the Bandar Lengeh port during the 11th month.
"Also, 46 tons of cargo were loaded and 27,900 tons were unloaded in this port for transit, as well as 440 tons were loaded and 167 tons were unloaded for cabotage over the reporting month," the statistics said.
At the same time, 428 tons of cargo were loaded and 17,300 tons were unloaded in this port for other purposes.
Some 69,800 tons of essential products, 175 tons of metal products, 83,600 tons of construction and mining materials, 29,500 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts and 455 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port in the 11th month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 355 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 29 tons of small and assorted goods, about 17,500 tons of container products, and 260 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month.
In total, approximately 12.8 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 11th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.9 million tons were loaded and 5.88 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 1.37 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
