BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Bandar Lengeh port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 28.9 percent, during the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
More than 212,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at this port in the 1st month. So, about 163,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 49,400 tons were unloaded.
Approximately 160,000 tons of cargo were exported and 2,130 tons were imported through the Bandar Lengeh port during the 1st month.
"Also, 2,530 tons of cargo were loaded and 28,200 tons were unloaded at this port for transit, as well as 222 tons were loaded and 60 tons were unloaded for cabotage over the reporting month," the statistics said.
At the same time, 189 tons of cargo were loaded and 19,000 tons were unloaded at this port for other purposes.
Some 79,100 tons of essential products, 69 tons of metal products, 84,300 tons of construction and mining materials, 28,900 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts and 2 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded at the Bandar Lengeh port in the 1st month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 578 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, about 19,000 tons of container products, and 30 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month.
In total, 11.9 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 1st month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.22 million tons were loaded and 6.68 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 0.7 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
