BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. The number of passengers transported through Iranian airports domestically increased by 5 percent, in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), compared to the same month last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.
According to the statistics, approximately 2.7 million passengers were transported through Iranian airports for the first month.
Meanwhile, in the same month in the last Iranian year, the figure stood at over 2.53 million.

In total, more than 32 million passengers were transported through Iranian airports within the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 14 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
There are 54 active civil airports in Iran. Some 14 of them are international airports. An average of 30 million passengers are transported through Iranian airports per year.
