BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 25. The number of international flights (passenger planes only) carried out from Iran’s airports decreased by 10 percent, during the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports.
According to the data of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), a total of 1,513 international flights (passenger planes only) were carried out through Iranian airports in the 1st month.
Meanwhile, in the same month of last Iranian year, the figure stood at 1,688.
In total, 23,100 international flights (passenger planes only) were carried out through Iranian airports within the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023). This is an increase of 67 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).
There are 54 active civil airports in Iran. Some 14 of them are international airports. An average of 30 million passengers are transported through Iranian airports per year.
