The volume of cargo transported by trucks from Iran’s Khuzestan Province in the south-west of the country decreased by 1 percent, during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Director General of Roads and Transport Department of Khuzestan Province, Mohammad Jolanejad said, Trend reports.

“More than 11 million tons of cargo were transported by trucks from Khuzestan Province within 3 months. Whereas in the same period of last Iranian year, the figure stood at 11.3 million tons,” the director general noted.

Jolanejad added that the mentioned volume of cargo was transported by 610,000 trucks.

According to him, at the same time, 2.52 million tons of essential products were transported from Iran’s Imam Khomeini Port to various regions of the country by more than 105,000 trucks over 3 months.

Considering that there are several important ports, such as Imam Khomeini, Khorramshahr, Abadan, Arvandkenar in Iran’s Khuzestan Province, Iran mainly imports products to the country through the ports of this province.
