Cargo transit through Iran’s Bandar Lengeh port up by over half

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 5. Cargo transit through Iran’s Bandar Lengeh port in the Hormuzgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 51 percent since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Director of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Morteza Salari said, Trend reports.

During the specified time period, about 149,000 tons of goods were transited through the port of Bandar Lengeh, according to the director.

"During the reporting period, 62,817 different cars passed through the Bandar Lengeh port." "The vehicles were routed through Central Asian countries and Iraq," he continued.

According to reports, Iran's Bandar Lengeh port is the second most important port in Hormozgan Province after Bandar Abbas port.

Overall, 315,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Bandar Lengeh port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) for the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2023), which is an increase of 56 percent compared to the same month in the last year.
