BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 6. The number of domestic flights (passenger planes only) via Iranian airports decreased by 6.8 percent, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
As indicated in the report of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), more than 89,000 domestic flights were carried out from Iranian airports in 4 months.
Meanwhile, the figure stood at over 95,000 in the same period last Iranian year.

There are 54 civil active airports in Iran. Some 14 of them are international airports. On average, 30 million passengers are transported through Iranian airports per year.
