ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 8. Turkmenistan is working to resume air transportation between Ashgabat and Paris in the coming months, Trend reports.

This was stated by Deputy Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Annaev, speaking at a business meeting with French companies.

According to him, the Ashgabat-Paris flight, which was operated from 2013 to 2018, was one of the most optimal communications between the two countries, after which passengers had to fly between the two countries with a transfer in Frankfurt am Main (Germany).

Continuing the topic of Turkmen-French cooperation in the aerospace sector, Annaev also noted that two Airbus A330-200P2F cargo planes purchased this year have significantly increased the production capacity of the national air carrier.

Furthermore, he noted that thanks to cooperation with the French Thales Alenia Space, Turkmenistan entered the list of countries with their own communication satellite, while adding that the national satellite allows for high-speed and reliable communication throughout the country, as well as providing communication services to other countries in the region.

Annaev stressed that the established cooperation with Airbus DS Geo SA enabled Turkmenistan to obtain images of the Earth for use in various fields, such as agriculture, ecology, urban planning and others.

Meanwhile, French airlines are actively developing air routes in Turkmenistan, which contributes to an increase in tourist flow and economic cooperation between the countries.
